How To Move Spam to a Specified Folder Using Outlook Express |
| 2. In your folder list on the
left side of the Outlook Express interface, right-click on the Local
Folders and left-click New Folder. |
| 3. In the Folder name
text box, type SPAM and click OK. |
| 4. You should now have a
folder called SPAM underneath your Local Folders. |
| 5. Now
click on Tools
> Message Rules
> Mail. |
| 6. The dialog
menu below is where you will be spending most of your time managing your
custom SPAM filter. This is a very powerful tool and allows you to do much
more than just filter SPAM. We will be separating this dialog menu into
four parts. |
| 7. Select
Where the Subject line contains specific words by clicking in the
check box |
| 8.
Select Move it to the specified folder by clicking in the check box |
| 9. Click on the link:
contains specific words |
| 10. Type
phases or a word into the text box and click on the Add button. I
have added a few words below as an example. You may always return to this
dialog menu to add new words later. When you are finished, click the OK
button |
| 11.
You may now define where you would like to redirect
your SPAM. Clicking on the "specified"
folder link. |
| 12.
Click on the SPAM
folder and then click OK.
| 13. Finally,
choose a name for the specific rule that you just created. I named the
rule SPAM Subject to reflect that I am trapping SPAM by using
keywords and phrases in the subject line of incoming emails. Now click the
OK button |
| 14. You have
just created your first rule. Click the OK button to return to your
mailbox |
